23. Being born again not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptlible seed by the word of God. Which lives and abides forever 24. Because all flesh is as grass. And all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers and its flower falls away. 25. But the word of the Lord endures forever.
To be truly born again there must be nothing corrupt in our lives. The only way to reach that goal is to surrender to the Holy Spirit. A bit scary you say? no it is a lovely walk and as we yield to him. He will show us what he wants out of our lives a bit at a time.
That is for those of us that can be a bit stubborn and fearfull. We should not be, he is a gentleman and he will never leave our case. But it is up to us to be willing to let him have his way.
In a lot of the scriptures that refer to our relationship with Christ. It states, in Christ, we can know about him and know the word of God but unless we have a desire to be Christ like. You see I can know of my neighbour but that does not mean I really know him.
We need to have a thirst for the word of God and a desire to be really like him. The Holy Spirit is our comforter and helper and he will be with us all the way. This is a lovely walk and Jesus will hold our hand. It does not come any better than that, look at the promises in the word of God they are sure and true. This should encourage us to be truly born again.
Ready to do what we are called to do and to be thrilled by the presence of Jesus in our lives. That means that no circumstance can affect us and we go forward in Christ not staying where we are.
Isaiah 66. verse one stated that my throne is in heaven and the earth is my footstool. That means that heaven is above the earth and below on the earth. Do we want to visit the throne room? of course we do. Then let the spirit of God take us there, seems a bit far fetched?. in the beginning of Revelation we find John on this earth, in the spirit and a voice said come up here.
We also are on this earth, but when we are in the spirit the Holy Spirit will take us into the throne room. And there is Jesus our intercessor waiting for us. Sitting at the right hand of our Father. What a privilege we have and that can happen to any of us. But going back to Isaiah verse one again, God says he will look upon a humble and contrite spirit with favour. We have some spiritual work to do to get to being humble. Join me?.
